Tsiolkovsky:
Thank you for bringing up Thousand Parsec. And I'm glad to hear that you wish the best for it. If you have some time you could also help us test the games. Especially now that a new and much more interesting ruleset (Reach for the Stars like) is being implemented as part of Google Summer of Code. Work on MTSec ruleset should also begin soon.

Jason:
I'm also glad you like Thousand Parsec. As Tsiolkovsky said I would also invite you to check out our project. It would be great if you could join us on IRC (we are on freenode.net in #tp channel) or if you could contact us using mailing lists. By the way, one of our sub-projects accepted at Google Summer of Code was also the creation of Web Client. So it would be very nice if you could join us and help the accepted student with ideas and testing. After GSoC is over you could also help the student and rest of us improving the web client.

Thanks again to both of you and I hope to meet you in Thousand Parsec community.

What you are describing here is very similar to what guys at Thousand Parsec are trying to do. They are constructing some sort of framework for creating 4X strategy games. So the basis is a network protocol, then they use this to create servers and clients (including web based). All this can be used to play different types of 4x games. The best thing of all is that the project is open source and if you know how to help by programming or ides I think they will be more than glad if you could join. Hack even I would like Thousand Parsec succeed as soon as possible as I also love to play 4X strategy games.
