Death to Backbase!

That’s right.. its time once again for me to completely rehash my website – and more importantly to get rid of backbase.

While I think there is some value to big fat bloated ajax packages like BackBase, they are way too slow and cumbersome for a simple home page. I was testing it to see if it would be a viable package to use for business purposes and I have most assuredly come to the conclusion that it will NOT be in my tool box any time soon.

So, on to something else – WordPress anyone? I have seen a lot of sites out there that all use this similar setup and I figured I’d give it a whirl. How bad can it be? (Actually from the looks of it, its pretty nice.. )

I want to be able to focus on content, not design and upkeep. A blogging tool like WordPress seems to be perfect, though really its almost more than your run of the mill blogger.. We shall see.. I hope it fills the bill nicely.

Christmas is here! Shoot me.

I can’t believe we are a week away from Christmas at this point and I am still completely NOT in the mood. I mean I don’t think I have ever been this bad. It just sucks. Mel and I have ZERO excitement for this time of year lately.. It’s more of a drag than anything else. *sigh* I hope we get better, but right now I ain’t feeling it.

It might be due to the fact that its 80 degrees outside.. !!! Its December 16th and its 80 out.. Global warming anyone? How wrong is that?! (Actually it was a really pretty day.. but it just seems wrong)

Woo-hoo! I can see your site again in Opera and Safari!

I will test this in all browsers to make sure it works.. It’s just silly to me that Backbase didn’t support those browsers.

I understand what they were trying to do, and it was an interesting implementation to say the least – but it was far too bloated and slow.

Backbase Ajax Framework is not a fit for multi-page web sites development by its design, it is for client-side single-page GUI applications.
