I really appreciate your input.. not sure how I would monetize it.. I'm sure there are good ways but I'm not sure what thye are..

As to making it a career.. the issue there is when you turn a hobby into a career, you lose your hobby.. I have learned that once already in my life.. don't really want to do it again.. =)

Nice, you are good, if this is a hobby, you should turn it into a career, or try making some money off of it.

Oh this model embarrasses me in a lot of ways, it was very poorly done in a lot of areas.. I think you'd be better off trying your 3d printing experiments with something less complex and a lot less "ugly" mesh wise..

Hey Jason,

Just came across this post. I was thinkin of experimenting with some 3D printing. Just for fun and to try out some conversions. Any chance you would share your Hammerhead model? If not I totally understand, just figured I would ask...

Looks rad!

Cheers,
Christopher

I hope so!! I did manage to get some ticks tonight from my pendulum but I think I am going to have to recut my escape wheel..

One lesson this clock has taught me is that the escape mechanism *is* the clock.. So if the wheel or pallets aren't cut perfectly it won't work.. Lesson learned!

I wish I'd found your post about a year ago, when I made a failed attempt to get into WoW. Other players' behavior was a good solid chunk of why I left. (The other reason being that the game kind of stinks. One keeps simply doing the same thing over and over again. I found it exceptionally boring.)

I think, though, that there is one cause of online assery that you might be missing. When I think of times when I'm the most likely to be an asshole myself, it's when I feel hurt or slighted. Someone cuts me off on the highway, and I lean on my horn and yell out "you fucking feeble-minded asshole! I hope you die in a fiery crash!" Well, that's pretty reprehensible behavior on my part, even if the other guy is at fault.

So, how does this relate to your in-game idiots? I imagine that at least some of them are folks who regularly feel slighted and ignored, or even hurt and bullied, in their daily lives. Now here they are in a scenario where you don't know who they are. Where you don't know that they feel small and powerless most days. So they get to act out the part of the powerful, strong, bully. They make you into the person they hate having to be, so they can feel better about themselves.

As for the other half of the idiots... well, they're the folks that are already horrible idiots in their real lives! Seriously. Aggressively small-minded asshats game too. ;)
