I have gone ahead and customized the permalink structures from something vague and cryptic to something a little more human readable.  This is something that I had wanted to do for a while but had never really looked into.  Come to find out it’s supported directly by wordpress and all I had to do was change the permissions on a couple of files to make it happen.. It’s easy when you know how – and reading the instructions sure does help.

Previously if you wanted to read the Crafters harvest guide, you’d have to follow a link that looked like this; http://info.rsow.com/?p=72

Short and simple sure, but really it doesn’t mean anything to users.  It’s not what I would call a human readable url. The new location is; http://info.rsow.com/crafters-tier-harvest-guide/
This new system, while longer, makes for much easier to understand urls – and the best part is that the old one still works.

Stuff like this is why I love PHP, and I love Linux.
